Overall Rank = 467/884
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 26/44
Pre-race routine:

Made some oatmeal and tea for breakfast, had a banana while setting up my transition area.
Event warmup:

Swam a minute or two while waiting for the start.
Swim
  • 30m 21s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

First half of my swim wasn't very good, my wetsuit is out for repair so I borrowed a friend's and it just took a little longer to get in a groove. I was able to make up some time after rounding the buoy and overall I'm happy with my time.
What would you do differently?:

Not rip my wetsuit the weekend before the race :)
Transition 1
  • 03m 43s
Comments:

My feet were caked with sand, and I had some water to rinse off one but ended up having to run back to the foot rinse for the other.
What would you do differently?:

Plan a little better
Bike
  • 1h 30m 52s
  • 27.34 miles
  • 18.05 mile/hr
Comments:

It's a challenging and fast course, I just didn't put in the training hours I needed to really take advantage of it.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training
Transition 2
  • 04m 24s
Comments:

Terrible T2, getting my socks on proved to be quite the challenge ate up a lot of time, also had some trouble racking my bike.
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 58m 38s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

Running is always my worst event, to compound matters I've been having knee and ankle pain since last November, so for this race I'm happy with my time under the circumstances.
What would you do differently?:

I had a gait analysis done at the Saucony tent and it turns out I overpronate badly and need a very supportive shoe. Unfortunately, I've been running in neutral shoes for about three years now, which may explain my knee/ankle issues.
So buy the correct shoes is first on the list before Timberman.
Post race
Warm down:

Cheered on my buddy Chris as he came in, grabbed a burger, margarita and just enjoyed the day.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A few things, but the main one is training. I just didn't put the effort into my training to have a really great race. It did serve as a wake up call for Timberman.

Event comments:

This was my second Mooseman, and I had just as much fun, if not more this time around.
Raced on Saturday, volunteered on Sunday, one of my favorite races of the year, I'll keep coming back as long as it's around.
Thanks Keith, the volunteers, and everyone at EndorFUN for putting together a great race.
***fair warning*** - I am already prepared to Bust a Mooove next year!
