Pre-race routine:

Got to the race site at 6:30am and got a good spot to rack my bike. Had oatmeal for breakfast and a coffee at 5:15am

was aiming for 40:00min.
took a GU 20 min before race started.
This was my first half and I was surprised at the noise of 459 people hitting the water at the same time.
3/4 of the first lap was insane. Had to breath on one side instead of bi-latteral just cause I had to keep watching infront of me. On the second loop I had the breathing perfect and made up alot of time.

passed alot of people on the hills. nutrition was perfect (infinit). I took 1 soft chew tums at the 15km point (felt gassy)it worked).

Course: out and back rollers except... at km 23 ish one long hill about ~500ft climbing, then 3km of flat, then another ~100ft climb then down to the turn around.

Course: hilly, I`ve never seen so many hills on any 1/2 mara I`ve ever done before. the first 5 km was on flat grass then out to the roads for an out and back along the bike route. I took my own nutrition for the run (infinit) and again no problems. Rollers are ok for a bike but not running.
