Pre-race routine:

Woke up, got dressed and got a Naked Juice on the way to the race. Go my timing chip and setup my transition

Started out way too hard (but was happy I could be that fast, 1:08 for 100!). Need more endurance so I could keep that up for the whole time!

More high intensity long training.

I probably got the longest T1 time of the whole race. Waiting the 2 mins for Christi so we could go out together. Super simple since the swim was the night before.
What would you do differently?:

Charge my garmin!

Some really stupid riders (one woman specifically) who didn't know what blocking was. They would stay left no matter how many people would pass them. To get by her you'd have to get almost into the oncoming lane (almost the entire time there was a big shoulder or a bike lane she didn't seem to see the need to be in).

Christi pushed hard and did really well for her first race!

Took off my tights and jacket. It was finally warming up. Was able to wear just my 1 piece tri suit

Christi had to walk a little bit on the way out. She got into the groove at the turnaround and we ran the whole way back. It was great. Finished hand in hand!

Felt fine. Ate some pizza, banana and talked with Mark and waited for Summer to come in

Great way to start the year. And what better way than helping Christi with her first race!
