Run
Comments: Started off a little too fast, didnt train on concrete only wood chips outdoor and indoor treadmill. Snowboard 3-4 times a week and hike at high altitude so my lungs are good. My hurt knee prevented me from torturing it on concrete! What would you do differently?: My longest run was only 10miles. I would have a few weekend runs of 13-20miles and do more outdoor street running/sidewalk. Post race
Warm down: Legs were slightly stiff, ate 1 banana drank 2 bottles of water plus the 2 cups of gatorade and 3 cups of water during race. No vegan options at race free-bees except bannas and water. I would have had a juice from my juicer prepared for post race. What limited your ability to perform faster: To many carbs the week before. Some foods were included in my diet that I normally dont eat plus I didnt train 2 days prior to race but ate the same. Event comments: Nice easy downhill race. I did notice that some of the bikers and wheel chair bikers had to tell runners to get out of the way. Those guys haul ass and use some of the same course as runners.Overall this is a great organized race and good to be able to run in your city! Last updated: 2009-03-05 12:00 AM

Carb loaded more so throught the week but was not happy. Should have just ate my normal vegan-vegetarian diet. Night before ate one-world for lucnd had some rice and patatoes. Dinner made whole wheat pasta with tofu and veggies. Too many carbs because all week I ate plain oatmeal with nuts and rasins for breakfast. Eat normal with slightly more carbs might work better but overall I felt fine but a little heavy.
Rode my bike uphill to the start. Good ten minute light uphill bike ride. Did not stretch much.
