Run
Comments: I tried to focus on staying on a good pace and was aiming for sub 10 minute miles. I ended up passing about 7 people and didn't get passed by anyone from behind, so I think that my pacing was good. The course was basically all flat until the turnaround, which was a hill that was a 125 ft climb in a quarter mile. I kept up a job until about 3/4 of the way up and had to walk to the top. But as soon as I turned around, I picked up the pace and ended up passing a few people going down the hill. What would you do differently?: Overall I was pleased with how I did. I had a little left in the tank at about a quarter mile out and was able to go all out to the finish. I was pleased to see that I went sub 10-minute miles even with the hill. Other than do more running so that I could be more competitive, I was very happy. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the track a couple of times, ate a banana and drank a couple of waters. Hung around and stretched a while to wait for the results to be posted. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of serious run training. All in all I am pleased with how I did and acheived my goal. Event comments: Good little race. Geared more towards the half mary that was taking place as well, but they did a good job taking care of the 5k participants as well. Last updated: 2009-03-06 12:00 AM

Got up early, drove the hour and a half out to the race site. A little chilly.
Walked around a little, hit the restrooms, and tried to stay warm.
