Felt good during the swim. The dark skies, pouring rain and low light made it difficult to spot the bouys.
What would you do differently?:

Wear non-shaded goggles for better visibility

Didn't get to excited about a speedy transition as I was just trying to survive the day

Very strong head winds and driving rain dominated the first 20 miles. At least the headwind died down before I could get back to that point and take advantage of it as a tailwind. I've never ridden in weather that bad.

Absolutely died during the run. Ran water stop to water stop with 30 seconds walk in between for the first half and then reduced to about 50/50 run/walk the second half. Never so glad to see a finish line as that.

Event comments:

Overall, I wanted to survive the day and finish, which I did! Hidden in the back of my head was a goal to finish in under 7 hours, which would have been doable in better weather I think. Overall, I'm quite satisfied!
