Pre-race routine:

started off with a cliff bar about 30 mins before race and set everything up

jogged for about 5 mins and then stretched.

Comments:

I was most nervous about this section and felt great during the swim. I passed a decent amount of swimmers from the first wave.
What would you do differently?:

At the end of the race I changed to bilateral breathing in an attempt to go faster. This put me out of breath more for the transition than I would've liked. Would bring a container of baby powder vs trying to just spray it on

my water bottle fell out and then I dropped my glove which made the transition slower than I would have liked. Had to run 150yds from the swim to the transition area

not used a water bottle that didnt fit

Not knowing/understanding the course. Being new and not sure how to pace myself

I thought it was a great race, just don't have anything to compare it to.
