Swim
Comments: This was my first wave start. I decided to stay in the thick of it since there were only 32 in wave and I am fairly confident in my abilities. It actually went really well. It was just difficult navigating around everyone. What would you do differently?: Be a little more aggressive. Transition 1
Comments: Transition went well too. No real problems here. It was a long run from the transition area to the mount area in the road. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Nice Flat course. Felt pretty good throughout. I think I may have gone a little too hard Since the run was a little difficult. What would you do differently?: Bike more and run more Transition 2
Comments: Very smooth. Ran in, Racked bike, Helmet off, Ran out. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: This was a tough one. I seriously felt a lot slower than sub 10 minute miles. Distance might bee a little off. Legs were a little spent from the bike but I managed. What would you do differently?: I really need to get my volumes back up there in the run and bike. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, Had a bagel and banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: I really need to get my volumes back up in training. Since the Black Fly Tri I haven't been able to get them back up there enough. I have been able to run averaging 4 or so miles per run. but there was very little biking. I think that's what has hurt the most. I'll be back at training with a vengance in a few days and start gearing things up for the Cranberry Oly in the end of August. Event comments: Despite the rain I really had a great time. For a first time race this really went smoothly. Can't wait to come back again next year. Great race, great volunteers, great time :-) Last updated: 2009-03-09 12:00 AM

Up at 4 am and PB sandwich in the kitchen before I left. Got all my gear in the car, the bike on the rack and then the 45 minute drive from Providence to South Kingstown.
Hung out and chatted with some of my rackmates and they invited me to head out to the beach for a warm up swim. So weo donned our wetsuits (in the rain) and headed for the beach. Swam for about 10 - 15 minutes and then headed in. This was going to be my first ocean swim so I was a bit anxious. A couple of mouthfuls of saltweater and I quickly found my rhythm.
