Swim
Comments: Basically freaked out! Swimming is clearly my weakness but I forgot about everything I had practiced and just swam out of control. Never got a rythm. good thing it was a short pool swim. The only thing I could think about was just get out and bike. What would you do differently?: Since I know from training that I should shatter a time like that. Next time I just need to remember to focus on my training. I can do much better. Don't freak out, it's all mental! Transition 1
Comments: It was 49 degrees and rainy so the T1 was slow but had to put on layers of clothing for a very cold ride. What would you do differently?: Practice getting in and out of shoes quicker. Bike
Comments: Felt really good on a borrowed bike that didn't fit. I could have definetly pushed much harder. Looking back I wish i had. What would you do differently?: Push much harder. I was way to relaxed. Transition 2
Comments: Very cold trying to gather myself for the run. What would you do differently?: Buy some yanks for my shoes. My hands were freezing and i couldn't tie my shoes. Run
Comments: Very upset with my time. I should have been running 6:30 miles. But instead I just keep talking to this guy next to me and not pushing at all. I'm used to long adventure races, not sprints. I needed to stop taking it easy. What would you do differently?: Run faster. I went way too easy. Gotta go hard! Post race
Warm down: Walked and talked. Ate some great gumbo at finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: First triathlon. Not really knowing what to expect. Should have pushed much harder. Event comments: Great race to start with. I'm glad it was my first! Last updated: 2009-03-09 12:00 AM

First triathlon. So lots of nerves. Had a bananah and a bagel for breakfast and started to drink fluids. Short race so really no set strategy.
Swam 100yards. Stretched and swam anther 50.
