Comments: I was 80th in the water - but I should posted a shorter time. within the first 50 passed one guy, by the 150 passed another, held that until the wall around 250 where I just barely saw 2 or 3 other guys about to push off as I was coming - so I just keep myself with them trying not to over do it. What would you do differently?: Next time ill give a more true time to the organizers - and hope to be put near people that can keep the same pace Transition 1
Comments: WOW - it was cold! And my towel was soaking with cold water. Somehow managed to put socks and shoes on, but had way too much trouble with my shirt + jersey - it never felt right. Got my gloves on but without being able to properly strap them on. And ran off to the mounting area What would you do differently?: practice a T1 - this was my first and only time to really think about how to do this. Bike
Comments: I was happy with my shifting between gears, I keep my cadence about average the whole race. Considering I've only been practicing my bike for a few months and its not even modified for tri conditions im not upset with my performance; now I just have the drive to make my time into something decent. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice - epically with hills and harder routes. Transition 2
Comments: At this point, I could not even feel my extremities so I did not feel the cold. I threw off my bike stuff and shoved on my shoes and racing belt. What would you do differently?: If I had prior practice about how to do this efficiently it would have helped - but hey its a learning experience this time Run
Comments: After finally fixing my shirt on correctly and getting my race belt situated; I forced myself to hold a slow pace and I keep it for the whole race till the last .1mile - where I went all out. My best time to ever do a 3.1miles was 24min - and that happened the weekend before so considering what I just finished 3 extra min is not so bad What would you do differently?: nothing, this was the exact time I was hoping to get. Post race
Warm down: breath hard for about 5min, and chug some vitamin water. What limited your ability to perform faster: weather! and inexperience at T1 +T2 Event comments: Really happy I did this race; now any other will have better weather conditions and I'll know more about what to expect. The people were really nice and helpful and seeing a runner with a big green wig just makes me smile. Last updated: 2009-03-10 12:00 AM

First off this was my very first tri - so my routine included trying to calm my nerves down. Had a cliff bar and some juice on my drive in.
After getting help from the people around my about how to set up, jogged a little bit to test out the pavement/mud. Then hopped in the pool for a 100m mostly to test out how the distance feels - I hadn't practiced in a 50m distance pool in a long time.
