Swim
Comments: The swim was at the end so I was breathing every stroke. It was pretty crazy I guess I was near the middle of the first wave so it was very crowded but passed a lot of people. not very good pushes off the wall. Kicking felt really weird since they were tired already, arms felt pretty tired too. What would you do differently?: Not be so nice trying to get under the ropes Transition 1
Comments: Got bike shoes and helmet on pretty quick, had a hard time clipping in. What would you do differently?: More practice clipping in Bike
Comments: was hard to pass people with all the u-turns, but still got past quite a few. Wore my sungleasses to keep the rain out of my eyes, not sure if that was better or not cause I kept having to clear them off. Was too worried about the slick surface to do hard u-turns or to worry about drinking. All the u-turns also made for packs, I don't see how you can keep 3 bike lengths on most of this course. a lot of people riding on the left (blocking) got blocked on the corners quite a few times by people on either side. What would you do differently?: spin a little bit more...? Not sure about the sunglasses, maybe clear lenses of transitions would have been better Transition 2
Comments: This was from bike to swim. Some one put their bike on the rack wrong so I had a hard time getting mine one. Should have tried the other way. Almost forgot my cap and goggles but only took a second to remember, got the cap on as I was running to the pool, goggles on as we had to walk into the pool. Run
Comments: not bad, should probably pick up the pace more, but am surprised at the time. This is my best mile time! What would you do differently?: Could have gone out a bit harder, but hey, its my first race! Post race
Warm down: little bit of streaching had some water and an orange slice. Froze my feet going out to get my stuff out of transition changed got a little massage, ahhh, drank more water. What limited your ability to perform faster: rain Event comments: I had fun. Was nervous but did fine. Was surprised to place in my first event. Will be interesting to see how many are in my age group. Still need to work on the run! Last updated: 2009-03-11 12:00 AM
