Pre-race routine:

Woke up around 6 and took my time getting ready. Our hotel was right down the street from the finish/bus pick-up so we had lots of time. Ate an english muffin with peanutbutter and some juice and a little coffee. Got to the busses about 7:45 and ended up getting to the race start about 8:45 or so. Dave and I found a rock and just hung out for a bit. I couldn't believe how many people were there. Was a bit chilly in the canyon but we had layers that we could ditch in our sweat bag so it wasn't so bad. I had been sipping on some electrolite drink stuff since leaving the hotel and had a gell about 10 min before the race start.
Event warmup:

Jogged from the bus drop-off to the race start and did lots of stretching while waiting for the gun. All the people around kept me pretty warm.

Comments:

Had to make a dash into the port-a-potty at about mile 2 1/2. Realized after the start that it wasn't just nervous pee and I wouldn't be able to hold it. Luckly I was able to get in and out quickly without wasting too much time.
What would you do differently?:

Pee before the start...even if it might just be nerves.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of walking and stretching. The last three miles were killer for me, so just making it to the finish was an accomplishment.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick and taking medication.....I think as much as I tried to tell myself that I was feeling better, I just wasn't.

Event comments:

I will beat my Half Marathon PR....I am thinking about Platte River in two weeks. I know I can do this and I just have a bad tase in my mouth from this race...I really wanted to PR here.
