Comments:

Got stuck in the pack starting out, and there were some really crappy swimmers. After the first 200 yards, I was able to break out a bit and get settled into my own pace. Had I started at the front, I think I could have easily done this in 10 minutes or less.
What would you do differently?:

Start @ front of pack.
Transition 1

Comments:

Ended up running in shoes- what a pain in the ass. Then my timing chip was about to fall off, so I had to stop and put that on. Gotta figure out a way to be more efficient. Can't put the shoes on the pedals- size 13's drag. Ankle timer was my fault, had to put it under the wetsuit and my wetsuit is short. Next time I'll live without it under the suit.
What would you do differently?:

Gotta figure out a way to run faster with the bike and mount quicker.

Comments:

Pretty good ride, considering it was the 2nd time I've ridden these wheels and tires. With a little more practice I'll be even faster. Regardless, this is the fastest average speed I've had in a Tri. I only went about 80% effort too. Can't wait for next race. I did experience some pain in the hip abductors- going to work on those in the weight room this week.
What would you do differently?:

Go harder.
Transition 2
  • 02m 32s
Comments:

Too slow to tie up and put shoes on. Need towel to sit on. Really need to work on this transition.
What would you do differently?:

Everything :)

Comments:

had to walk for a minute every 10 minutes. Didn't really hit a good stride until about the 2 mile mark. I remembered my plyo lessons and worked on bouncing off the toes. had a much better finish than a start. This is something I can improve on next race.

Event comments:

Great production, and way cool T-shirt. Without Limits puts on a great race! I don't know if I'd do this again, just because it's so far from where I live. Definitely a fun race though- and I loved the XOOD drink and the Jimmy Johns afterwards.
