Swim
Comments: First half was very crowded...can't imagine a larger race with everyone starting at once. I finally got through a traffic-jam of slower swimmers, and the last 200yds were smooth and fast. What would you do differently?: More warm-up to get my breathing going. Transition 1
Comments: T1 went fine. Got dressed and even put on my number belt (for the run) to save a couple seconds in T2. Took an Endurolyte, and ran to the mounting area. What would you do differently?: Could have moved faster. I spent a few seconds looking around and taking in the whole experience...i was having a blast. Bike
Comments: Rode great and felt great. I was passing people, shifting gears, hydratting...then, at 7.25 miles, the fit hit the shan. FLAT TIRE!!! DNF - was one of my more painful and dissappointing experiences in recent years. What would you do differently?: Bring a spare? What a great idea. Transition 2
Run
Post race
Warm down: Walking my bike back to the high school. What limited your ability to perform faster: Maintenance. Event comments: Despite my missfortune on the course, it was a great race that I would recommend to others. Last updated: 2009-03-18 12:00 AM

Half of a peanutbutter sandwich and a cup of coffee. Arrived early; met Marty and Greg. Set-up transition area then went inside. Walked around and did some stretching. Felt calm.
More stretching and breathing...should have brought my heart rate up a little more.
