  • 21.1 kms
  • 06m 06s  min/km
Comments:

This run was to replace my long slow run of 18km leading up to the May long weekend 1/2, but as I felt good at the start of the race, decided to run the race more of a race rather than just a long slow practice run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

10 minutes stretching, followed by eating 2 pancakes with syrup.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight.

Event comments:

Small race with around 1200 participants overall for all events. Good early race to see how you are starting off the year or for an early PR as group start thins early within first 5 minutes of race.

Course: Out and Back 2 times. Started from Ottawa City hall and ran along Queen Elisebeth Drive just to Dows Lake and return. The 10km group and 1/2 marathon groups started together. The 10 km group just one out and back while the 1/2 marathon group did the out and back 2 times. Very flat course, good course for beginners as the course was not crowed. I felt like I was running a typical sunday morning long run for most of the run, as few people were around me at my pace.
