Swim
What would you do differently?: Be ready and in the water at swip time! Transition 1
Comments: I put socks on. This was a mistake... no socks next time. Also had trouble getting unzipped coming out of the water. What would you do differently?: No socks. Focus on unzipping and getting the first part of the suit off sooner. Have helmet, sunglasses ready on top. Bike
Comments: Felt really good. My bike is an OLD 12 speed. I ran the majority of the race in the top gear and guys with similar cadence were passing me. I'm wondering about gearing? What would you do differently?: Probably need a better bike. Definitely need to carry the bike. Transition 2
Comments: I didn't use clip on shoes, so I didn't have to change shoes. Made my transition time good. 73rd overall. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Run
Comments: At the start, I think I had eaten to many of the power gel gummy things. I probably had about 5 during the bike and my stomach wasn't feeling good when I started the run. The first 2.5 miles were a focus on looking for a port-a-pot and there wasn't one. It went away for the second half, but I just didn't have anything left. Walked too much. What would you do differently?: Eat less energy stuff and focus on hydration. Post race
Warm down: Drank 32 ounces of water + several cups of gatorage. Couple of oranges and banana. Me legs hurt, I just walked around and poured water on my head. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor planning and stomach problems on the run. Event comments: It was my first event and I really enjoyed the handling of the event.
