Swim
Comments: Well the time doesn't reflect it, but I felt I was having a decent swim for me. Sighted pretty well, felt a good, steady stroke was maintained throughout. No "oh shit" moments, kept HR in check and got out of the water feeling OK. The time reflected a fairly pedestrian swim though, certainly not a fast swim. Oh well... it is what it as for now. What would you do differently?: Nothing that I can think of Transition 1
Comments: The wet suit was a little difficult to get off the ankles, other than that, OK. What would you do differently?: More Body Glide on the ankles perhaps Bike
Comments: Good bike, pushed about as hard as I could, without really trashing the run. No issues with the bike on this day. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: The dismount was less than smooth, once I got off the bike, I went right through T2 pretty well. What would you do differently?: Keep one foot on the a pedal on the dismount so I have leverage to swing the other leg over the top tube. Run
Comments: Never found my running legs, and had no gas in the tank to push it. Run time was 30 seconds slower than last year, and 15 sec/mile slower than I was hoping for. I have really not had a good run yet this season and I will have to revisit why that might be.... What would you do differently?: I am not sure, but I will be working on figuring it out. Post race
Warm down: Walk around and socialize with other finishers. A couple bottles of water, bananas and a really tasty breakfast burrito. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: Again, one of the best run races of any size I have done. This continues to be a favorite and I will be back every year. I might add this is a good race for beginners, as well. Again, failed to get a decent nights sleep before the race...maybe 3-4 hours of quality sleep. Had a bowl of granola and a large coffee on the drive up. Arrived and set up a bit late, almost didn't get setup before they closed transition. Oops. Pre-race meeting and down to the swim start.
200m swim, then wait 15 minutes to start. The usual.
