Pre-race routine:

Got up at about 5:45 a.m. Made coffee, and did my internet thing. Had a bowl of oatmeal. Hubby ate my banana, GRRR. My daughter came over around 6:45 for coffee and we walked up to the race start at 7:20. Had a Chocolate Outrage GU and some water as soon as we got to the race area about 15 minutes prior to the race start.

Comments:

I was glad I ran this the other day, because as I was going UP, I knew how far I had to go before it went DOWN again. Used the downhills to kind of catch my breath and passed a LOT of people walking the uphills. Did not walk at ALL!!! I passed quite a few people and took 2 minutes off the time that I ran the race route a couple of days ago! The weather was overcast, almost a little misty, and it rained just a little bit, but it all felt good. Glasses fogged up, but was able to still see.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a bottle of water and waited for my daughter to come in. She slowed to a walk at about 1.25 miles. She said she had me in sight for pretty much the rest of the run, but had to do the run/walk thing. She came in around 37 minutes. Once she got it, we walked back home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Had some gastro issues right before the race, nerves?? In fact, that kept me running up the last hill, because I wanted to get to the portapotty before I messed myself!

Event comments:

I am feeling like a runner! I was happy with my effort and my time and it's given me a boost to keep improving my run volume, knowing it will keep my times getting better and better!

Course: Started pretty flat and then a long downhill. Course went up one street, over a block, down another, over a block etc. Each street went down, then up.
