Pre-race routine:

Good sleep the night before, breakfast at 5:15 AM, then a 1.75 hr drive. A few prayers... Arrived an hour early, get relaxed, a breakfast bar 45 minutes prior, and then some hydration just prior.
Event warmup:

3/4 mile run warm up and then a mile and a bit on the bike, to check things out.

I was racing on a brand new bike. Still working out the gearing and gaining confidence in that area. Could have taken more advantage of some of the downhills.
What would you do differently?:

Work on hills more, take more advantage of the downhills, and get better with standing up in my pedals on the up-hills.

Event comments:

There were a lot of turns on the bike course and no one to point the way. Even thought the course was marked, more than one person missed turnes. A few more volunteers would be helpful.
