2-3 mile light warm up with some pick ups here and there.

Comments:

It felt like work for the first time but did not want to pull back because I didn't want to get passed. Stupid. I ran alone the whole time, that's probably while it started to feel like work.
What would you do differently?:

Care a bit less. If that's possible. This was supposed to be a warm up race.

Conditioning and training. But I was very happy

Too expensive but running the lakes is great. The timing people are behind the times too. Not fast enough or detailed enough

Steady 172-176 bpm for the whole thing. That was a first for me and felt like work about 3/4 the way through.
Course: one lap around Lake Harriet. Very Icey. One lap around Lake Calhoun, very little ice. One more lap around Harriet and most of the Icy was gone. Head wind to finish the race
