Swim
Comments: I seeded myself in the middle but had to negotiate people doing the breast stroke. What would you do differently?: In this type of race, next time I will stay in the front 1/3. Probably could have swum harder. Transition 1
Comments: Good, fast. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike. Played leapfrog with a group of men most of the time. Passed about 7 people out right. Strong on the climbs. What would you do differently?: Not too much. Don't hesitate to pass the men. Transition 2
Comments: Another quick transition. I was happy. Run
Comments: Ugly. Legs tired, heavy. After 1km, had increasing pain in left ankle. New pain. Tried to stretch it a bit but it got worse. Around half way mark, loosened the timing chip, way too tight. Felt a bit better but run was shot by then. Tried to go harder on last half... What would you do differently?: Keep working on the running. Maybe stretch a little in T2? Wear the timing band looser. I had abrasions as well as the ankle pain. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, dramk a bottle of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor running. Event comments: Great race, great volunteers, good prizes (I won a wine glass), and great BBQ for athletes (and families by donation). I would do it again! Last updated: 2009-03-23 12:00 AM

Spent the night Oliver. Went for first OWS in 10 months on Saturday afternoon. Relieved a lot of anxiety. Slept ok. Couldn't eat much in am (yogurt, banana, oatmeal). Up at 6:00, packed up and left around 7. Set up T1/2.
Swam 200m or so.
