Swim
Comments: Ok, the start of the swim was pretty much a nightmare. I've done enough of these now to expect the congestion at the start, but this one was waaaay bad. There limbs flailing everywhere! I got completely swamped by someone at one point. I finally just stopped, looked around for a path to some clear water, and did my best to get over to it without getting killed. I ended up swimming way on the outside and adding some distance, but it was worth it to get out of the mess. After I finally made it to the outside, the rest of the swim went well. What would you do differently?: Wear my own goggles. My daughter had mine at a swim meet, so I grabbed hers and they just don't fit quite right. Transition 1
Comments: This is a tough little run up a rocky path. Unpleasant on the feet. What would you do differently?: Not much. It was fine overall; nothing to write home about. Bike
Comments: Good grief this was SOOOO SLOW. I felt like I was hardly moving. I simply just could not get comfortable on the bike today and could not find a good rhythm. I don't know what my issue was, but it was probably related to my severe lack of time in the saddle. This was significantly slower than last year for me. What would you do differently?: Errrr, actually ride my bike once in a while. Transition 2
Comments: After getting off the bike, I walked to a volunteer and asked if she could take my chip since I wasn't doing the run. She did, and I just walked my bike back to the rack and picked up my stuff. Run
Comments: N/A! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Plantar fasciitis, extreme lack of training Event comments: Always nice to chat and eat with the BT crew at this race. :) Beautiful day and good company! Sad my 2/3 of a race was rather poor, but next year is another chance... :) Last updated: 2009-03-25 12:00 AM

This isn't going to be much of a report since I knew going in I was going to DNF. The foot just is not capable of a 5.3 mile run today.
