Swim
Comments: Good swim start. Kept to the left to keep away from the mass of people. Good swim except for rounding the corners and the end of each lap. People were looking to really kick peoples asses in those areas and I got punched kicked and probably even spit on.... What would you do differently?: Pushed a bit harder on the second loop. I just wanted to keep out of the fighting and really swam by myself for most of the second lap. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was slow but I didnt care I was gonna be out there all day and I just wanted to make sure everything went well. I would have liked to get the tape on my feet a bit quicker but what can you do. I was pretty fired up and needed some time to calm down. What would you do differently?: Make sure I had sunblock and put it on in T1. Bike
Comments: Love this course. Things went way faster then they had during my training rides and some of the harder sections were easier then normal. The out and back sucked like normal and the wind gusts made it pretty nasty on the way back and along the river and through the notch. What would you do differently?: Maybe started on the water a bit earlier and tried to stay away from the gels with caffeine. That is what did in my stomach. I would have loved to not have to take a dump. Probably would have cut off a good amount of time. Transition 2
Comments: Decent T2. Had some issues with the tape and had to take shoes off a few times to work tape. Finally I got some Vaseline and put it on under the tape. Made ALL the difference in the world. What would you do differently?: Maybe not taken my sweet time getting things on and changed. I would have loved it if my tape didnt stick so well then I wouldnt have had to keep taking the shoes off and putting them back on. Run
Comments: Decent run, I kept to the plan of walking at the aid stations for 30" as much as possible. Started to hit a bit of a wall on the way back on lap 2 on the long hills and had to walk a bit more then I wanted. What would you do differently?: Ate more pretzels. I was not sure how my body would have reacted to it. I would have loved to been able to run more but what can you do, at times my body just didnt want to let me put out that much power. Post race
Warm down: Went to the food tent and ate then got a massage. Changed and walked back to the condo. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think the heat slowed me down a bit but I trained in the heat as much as possible so it is really not an excuse. Event comments: Awesome race all around. I will do my best to do it again at least 1 more time before I die. It totally kicked butt... Last updated: 2009-03-25 12:00 AM

Got up at 4 and ate pancakes with syrup right away. Around 5 ate a waffle with peanut butter, around 6 took an endurolyte and a gel. Packed up all my stuff (most of my stuff and headed down)
No real warm up other then just running back and forth to get my special needs set up and get a new chip and swim cap.
