Comments: Worst race performance ever! Was right on pace and felt good over the first 3 miles...then my legs started to feel heavy and each mile was slower from that point on (started at 8:00 min./miles, ended closer to 11:00 min/mile). Took all I had to just finish the race without walking. Training was up to par, not really sure why my body didn't respond on race day...would like to blame the heat, but I never really felt overheated or dehydrated - just wasn't my day. What would you do differently?: Not sure what I could have done differently. Had a good 10 mile run a week before the race with shorter runs leading up to the race. Rested for 2 days prior. Took in water at every stop and got plenty of sleep the night before. Prep work was there...just didn't have it on race day. ![]() Post race
