Pre-race routine:

Up around 5:45 to get ready and leave the house about 6:45. Got my gear together and had a bagel with pb, banana and coffee. Dave had looked up the road conditions and thought we should give ourselves some extra time, just in case. We didn't anticipate getting caught behind 3 snowplows and a zillion other drivers just north of Monument. The speed got pretty slow and the drivers were crazy! I was a little nervous we wouldn't make it in time.
Event warmup:

Jogging from the car to the packet pick-up and back to the car. Not too much time to spare between when we got there and when the race started.

Comments:

Run was good. Dave was my awesome pacer and support crew for this one. He was right with me the whole way, making sure that I was drinking and taking my gels. He kept me right on track, what and great husband! I think he was a bit shocked at how "the rest of the pack" travels though. Being back in the mix is quite a bit different than right up front with the fast guys! We didn't even hear the gun and then when people started to move, it was still a while before we crossed the start line. Also, not everyone has the whole water station thing figured out back there...I think he almost ran over a few people who got water and stopped right at the table. Anyhow, I really appreciate him running with me and helping me to PR!! YAHOO!!! I needed it after that crappy run in Moab. Thanks honey!
What would you do differently?:

Leave the house a little earlier and place my order for some nicer weather!
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretching and walking around a bit. We had to get back to the Springs quickly and it was still pretty chilly so we got outta there quick.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Can't really think of anything.

Event comments:

YAHOO!!! PR by over 2 minutes!
