Swim
Comments: What the hell happened to me? I got kicked in the nose and bashed in the ear (actually saw stars for a sec) within the first 5 minutes, but I don't think that mattered in the long run. I ran into the rope ALOT, but at least I wasn't far off course. I did feel beat up by the waves, and my back hurt from trying to keep my body afloat without over exerting my legs. Wetsuits definitely gave an advantage today. Disappointing that I was almost 4 minutes over goal (28:30). What would you do differently?: I guess the only thing left for me to do is break down and join the wetsuit crowd? Transition 1
Comments: 10 seconds over goal but overall not bad as in the past. Had a half of a banana while getting socks/shoes on. What would you do differently?: ?? Lots to do in T1... Bike
Comments: Rained the whole way... which made me nervous on the steep downhills. Interesting though... Felt speed was ok (not good, not bad), was actually more than 6 minutes UNDER goal, and still last in my age group. Wonderful. What would you do differently?: Speed up, obviously. Transition 2
Comments: One of my best, actually. First on my age group in T2!!! Hey... have to have SOMETHING positive. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Still raining and now really muddy. I wish I could blame it on that. I just had nothing for the run. My first thought after T2 was actually "Oh, God. I'm never going to make it". Every step I took sent pains running though every part of my body. Back had spasms from whatever I did to it in the swim. Calves and hammys were completely cramped. Every joint screamed as my feet clammed down. What would you do differently?: I know I need to run more. I just hate it. Post race
Warm down: Inhaled bagels and ice cream. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sucking. Event comments: I still think the Cayuga Lake race is the best race ever. I definitely be back. Just need to step it up a lot before attempting the Intermediate again. Last updated: 2009-03-30 12:00 AM

Woke up, UNpacked the kids so they could stay home with the grandparents, choked down my bagel with peanut butter on the way.
None, unless running to the bathroom counts.
