Swim
Comments: I was happy with this swim. One of my goals was to swim hard and I did. I had a rough start, was swum over (thank you whoever did that) and had to stop and empty my goggles twice. But it got better. What would you do differently?: I think I need to go out harder in the beginning and then adjust my pace. Transition 1
Comments: ARGHHHH, could not get my wetsuit off. It was ANNOYING!! Bike
Comments: Good bike but I think I could have gone harder. Slower than last year. The heat was already starting to affect me on the bike. Another goal was to bike hard and I did, but I don't think I maxed it out. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Goal here was to manage my run. I've really been struggling this year, so I thought on this race I would try to find a way to not overheat, find a pace that would work and not get sick to my stomach. I think I accomplished that. I staved off the heat and sick stomach until km 8. Ran 10 to 1's. I haven't done this in a long time, but felt that I needed a structured plan and this worked. But, it was definitely not speedy!! Warm down: Freezie.. they're the best! What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat and lack of training. Temps of 30. Event comments: This really is a good race. It's well organized and the bike is great b/c it's a lot of downhill! Last updated: 2009-03-30 12:00 AM
