• Comments: Xterra puts on good trail races. I knew it was highly unlikely that I would finish before the cut-off time, and I didn't. At about mile 11-1/2 I got asked if I wanted a ride back and I said "no," that I was just slow, but OK. I said "no" the second time I was asked. I finally accepted the third time because I realized they wanted to clear the course. My only complaint is that the water station at Mile 10 was gone by the time I got there and I was there still within the race time. I would have understood if it was past the 3-1/2 hour point, but it wasn't and I had been really, really looking forward to that particular water/aid station. It was a mental thing and when it wasn't there, it sort of helped derail the last three miles (actually two) for me. I can't rate the post-race food or activities because they were all gone by the time I got there.
