  • Comments: Aftermath This report is long enough arreddy, but this event was profound for me, one who didn’t really place overly-much value on a women-only event. I thought that it would be fun, and it was. I thought that I’d enjoy being around my friends, and I did. I also met new tri-folk, including Melissa Merson, with whom I’d shared email about shared challenges. There was so much to be thankful for. From start to finish, this was an incredibly well-organized and well-run event. I really appreciated that Vigo didn't "dumb it down" for "the girls". Oh no. This was a *real triathlon*. Best of all, Coach Debi expertly prepared me for the challenge. With everything that I’ve faced this year, with every vicissitude, Coach Debi adjusted my training schedule and had me ready to go - mentally and physically.

  • Comments: Overall, this was a great race, especially since it was the first year! It was VERY organized and had a lot of volunteers. The expo was great and the giveaways were really good! The two complaints were that my wave was the second to the last to go off and 2) that I couldn't find the post-race food. I would do this race again though....a lot of fun!

  • Comments: This was the first Iron Girl Columbia triathlon and it was a great race and event. Everyone from the race director, volunteers and participants were very supportive and enthuisiastic. I loved getting a finisher's medal at the end.......it was a great race for a long journey of training. Thanks again to my jockstrap, team manager and full time support staff....James(jimbo), you're the best! Thanks to all the volunteers for making it a great race. Thanks to BT for all the support, tips and encouragement along the way...this site is the best! I'm definitely doing this race again next year!

  • Comments: this race was great for me, loved the enthusiasm from the voluteers and also all the women who raced. it was an emotional event for me to see so many women achieve what they worked so hard for. there were times as i was standing on the side lines watching these women finish i got filled up just knowing how happy they were, thier smiles were from ear to ear when they heard their names being called out as they were running down the shoot to the finish line. WOW!

  • Comments: I was happy about my overall performance as a first timer. I felt good after the race, which meant I should have pushed myself a little more on the bike and definetly on the run, but my goal was to finish in 3:30 and I was 1:30 ahead of that and I conquered my biggest fear....SWIMMING!!!

  • Comments: Really enjoyed this race, loved the fact that it was all women, everyone was very encouraging and helped each other out. One of the run drink stations was manned with "macho men" - they were in crazy costumes and stuff, it was funny.

  • Comments: This is an exceptionally well run and well organized race. TONS of volunteers, the aid station for the bike is fantastic and plenty of aid stations on the run as well. Overall, definitely a challenging course, but a very good one.

  • Comments: Excellent race. Very challenging. Hope to do this one again next year after some hard training. I really liked this Tri despite my poor results. I did finish and I have times to beat next year. Race director kept participants up to date through email---excellent communications. Good expo. Good host hotel.

  • Comments: My first race and I thought it was pretty perfect. I can't really think of anything making it better except being in better shape and not having a sore hamstring.
