Comments: Well, 8 months ago, my brother-in-law said you should sign up for the Beach to Beacon race in Cape Elizabeth, ME a 10K. I hadn't run since High School, now 36, so I took on the challenge. I started a run/walk program on April 1 of this year. It was a 4 month program, that lead up to the 10K race on August 1st. I just really got the running bug, and didn't want to stop there, so I signed up for the Chilly half marathon. Never in my wildest dreams did I see myself running 13.1 miles when I started running in April. I choose to do Hal Higdons 12 week novice half marathon training program. It really worked for me. It was a long and tough 12 weeks for me, but I'm so pleased and proud of myself for sticking to it. So now I've run my first half marathon, and could not be happier, except I'm so sore! I'm glad it's over, but I'm so glad I did it, and I can't wait to do more challenging events next year.
