  • Comments: Keith Jordan is a top-notch RD. This was one of the most well-planned and staffed races I have ever been to (not just triathlon but maration, ski racing and all that). Great volunteers, great public works support, great community, absolutely beautiful race site, challenging course and a goodie bag that can't be beat. This was the best race I could have chosen for my first half IM. I was happy with my performance, given that this is my first Half. I now understand what needs to be done for the next one :-).

  • Comments: Best Half Iron I've done thus far. Actually, out of all the races I've raced, this ranks up there for festivities, atmosphere, organization, and fans. Timberman had to be the most fun triathlon out there, even better than the NYC Triathlon. The only other event I've done that has been this much fun was the NYC Marathon. Would do it again in a heart beat!

  • Comments: I learned a lot from this race. Experienced a lot of highs as well as some lows, and got a good hard look at my current level of ability and endurance. I know what I want to work on as I look ahead to the Mooseman 1/2 and IMLP next year.

  • Comments: This was my first Half Iron so I don't have a lot of races to compare it to. That said, I thought the RD did a great job and would race it again (I just wouldn't run a double the week before). The only thing I found confusing was the timing of the waves. I'm sure there was a reason for it, but I didn't get why we started in wave 10 (next to last/right before the first timers). BTW - The event was 15 minutes late because they were trying to get people into the park.

  • Comments: I can wait to continue training for my next half. BTW, I want to thank my Coach Kurt because he is really the one who had made me train SMART and with much more quality. Not junk miles at all. THANK YOU!

  • Comments: I finally stopped pinching the edges of my styrofoam cups at work in the cockpit after two nights, and taking normal sips of my Diet Coke. Seriously, I couldn't stop doing it! I was getting really burned out from training, and not giving a shit about my nutrition since after June. I actually dreaded having to do this race, but after I did, I fell in love with the sport again. I think if it was a crappy ass race like F.I.R.M's stuff, I'd have written off next year's season. Really. A week from this race, I am doing Cranberry Country Oly for fun to end the season! :) Place 871 Out Of 1202 Bib# 468 First Name MAY Last Name CURRAN Gender F Age 5 City READING State MA Guntime 6:29:15 Ageplc 54 Agefin 86 Div F30-34 Winning Time for Your Division 5:00:18 Genplc 218 Genfin 358 Leg 1 Name 1.2MISWIM Leg 1 Plc 547 Leg 1 Time 36:50 Leg 1 Pace 30:41 Tran 1 4:32 Leg 2 Name 56MIBIKE Leg 2 Plc 998 Leg 2 Time 3:22:27 Leg 2 Pace 16.6 Tran 2 5:18
