  • Comments: Race was done to commemorate both the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 - and the 100 year anniversary of Great Lakes Naval Base. It was tough to get on the base - but they fixed it pretty quickly - and keeping in mind it's an active military installation - they need to keep their security in place. Volunteers were great - especially all of the Navy members manning the final water station.
