Comments: Cloud splitter is the hardest 100 miler I've done so far. It is extremely hilly with almost constant climbing or descending, very few flat spots and lots of rocks, roots and loose sticks. It has somewhere in the ballpark of 26,000 ft of elevation gain to boot. The aid stations are also pretty far apart after the Birch Knob aid station, usually 7 to 9 miles. I would only recommend this race to someone who really wants a seriously challenging race. It is scenic in some places but it is way more difficult than scenic.
