• Description: Get out your running and walking shoes and get ready for the 2006 Clifton 5-K Stampede & Health Walk. Sponsored by the Clifton Recreation Department, Elite Racing Systems, Clifton Walking Club and the Clifton High School Track Booster Club, the event will be conducted on Sunday, November 19th beginning 9:00 a.m. sharp for runners and walkers. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and walking registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Divisions are as follows: 10 & under, 11 – 14, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 69 and 70 & over. Awards are given for the Top three Males and Females in each age category and for the 1st place Overall Male and Female. Additional awards will be given for: 1st place Police Officer, Firefighter and Doctor/Chiropractor. There are no awards for walkers. Both events will begin at the Clifton City Hall Complex / Lester Herrschaft Center for Seniors and Citizens With Disabilities. After the race, raffles for great prizes and our annual turkey giveaway will be drawn. Visit various health booths as you enjoy some healthy snacks. Custom T-shirts will be issued to all pre-registered participants and post-registration participants (while supplies last) on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration fee for runners is $15.00 ($10.00 for youth with valid student ID) as of 11/13/06 and $20.00 ($15.00 for youth with valid student ID) after 11/13/06 or day of race. All runners who competed in the 2005 Stampede can receive a $5.00 discount on this year’s race, by registering a friend (who did not compete in 2005). To receive discount, you and your friend must register at the same time. Maximum discount = 3 friends. The registration fee for walkers is $10.00 as of 11/13/06 and $15.00 after 11/13/06 or day of walk. If you cannot participate in the race, you can make a $20.00 donation to the Clifton High School Track Team and receive a race T-shirt. Fill out appropriate information on registration form.
