  • Description: The course is located within over 3,000 acres of the Greenland Open Space. Part of the Colorado Front Range Trail, the Greenland Trail joins into the Old Territorial Road, connecting the old Greenland Town site to Palmer Lake. The course passes through native grasslands, by ponds, through rolling Gamble oak hills and skirts ponderosa pine forests allowing for outstanding views of Pikes Peak and the surrounding buttes.

Starting from the northern trailhead, the course travels south on the Greenland Trail. At the first intersection with the Kipps loop, runners will veer to the right, continuing along the Greenland Trail to the Old Territorial Road. Here, the course turns left and continues south for one and a half miles. Here, runners will make a left turn onto the Kipps Loop Trail and run east and then south over the saddle and through the burn area. After three and a half miles, runners will make a right (North) back onto the Greenland Trail. Runners will continue to the turnaround point where they will start this loop again. All 50K runners will complete this circuit four times before finishing. All 25K runners will complete this circuit two times before finishing. All 8M runners will complete this circuit one time before finishing.

The entire course is run on dirt trails. With wide, smooth double track trails, the Greenland Trial 50K guarantees to be a fast course. There will be an aid station at mile 3.5 and 7.5 of each loop.

The finish line will be open for 8 hours.
