- Description: The American Tobacco Trail 10 Miler was created in 2007 to raise awareness and support for the growing trail system throughout the Triangle. Held in the early fall, the race is a perfect distance for those tapering for a fall marathon or those trying out a new race distance. Proceeds from these races will help American Tobacco Trail development and maintenance through Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy.
The American Tobacco 10 Miler is a flat, fast, out-and-back course on a low-impact compacted soil surface. Most of the course is approximately 10 feet wide although there are more constricted spots at bridges and the tunnel under Hwy 64. The course is USATF certified and sanctioned (#NC071016NW).
