• Description: Now in its 9th year, Harvest Hustle is celebrated as one of the longest-running race events in Sarasota and Bradenton. The 5K event has had three different courses. The first course, in 1999, started near what is now the Braden River Bridge in Lakewood Ranch. Back then area was largely just fields with hardly any homes. The second course was along the soccer fields and parking lots of Lakewood Ranch High School. The route had a lot of turns, yet suprisingly it was still very fast. And today, the course traverses through the beautifully sculpted Country Club neighborhood in Lakewood Ranch. As you run, you'll notice parts of an exquisite golf course designed by the great Arnold Palmer. This route is only a year old. The male record to beat on today's course is 17:13, held by Thomas Webster. The female record is held by Harmony Holldand: 19:02. One last thing: Harvest Hustle is foremost a ministry to help feed the hungry in our local area. When you come to the race, bring a canned food with you to donate.
