• Description: The Annual Gail Gorin Memorial Turkey Trot has become a mainstay event in the Smithtown community since 2003. November of 2003 marked the 20th anniversary of the death of Gail Gorin from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, an aggressive form of leukemia. Jodi Gorin Kerper, Gail’s daughter and her husband Michael Kerper, took it upon themselves to raise as much money as possible to help other patients and their families when help is needed the most. It is in Gail Gorin’s name that we proudly support Charity Begins at Home. Their mission is also to get help to families and organizations in need with minimum expense and maximum efficiency.
