The event begins with a 300 meter pool swim in the WAC outdoor pool. Participants snake their way across the pool, going up one lane and coming back in the next. All participants must submit a 100 yard swim time for starting positioning purposes. Participants will be placed from fastest to slowest. It is in your best interest to submit an accurate 100 yard "pace" time for your 300 meter swim. Submitting a time that is too fast puts you up with swimmers who will be passing you during the swim - not good for you or them. Putting a time that is too slow places you with slower swimmers and forces you to have to pass everyone.
Bike: The 11.5 mile bike course for the WAC Triathlon is atwo-loop course. The course is best described as tight and technical. The roads are mostly two-lane and will be open to vehicular traffic, but should be relatively light on race morning.
Run: The 5K run is an "out & back" course. It is flat and fast. The run is on a combination of sidewalks and a paved jogging trail around the lake.
