• Description: On Saturday, October 4, 2014, the region’s top triathletes will take over the streets and waters of Southern Illinois University to compete in one of the most long-standing triathlons in the world - the 32nd Doc Spackman Triathlon Festival. New this year are two triathlon distances to choose from — the ever popular Doc Spackman “Classic” Triathlon (350-meter swim, 5-mile bike, 2-mile run) and the new Spackman Sprint Triathlon (700-meter swim, 10-mile bike, and 4-mile run). Both races have the same start and finish lines by the beautiful SIU Campus Lake.
