• Description: The race starts atop Iron Mountain on Skyline Dr. The first two miles consist of flat or downhill sections as the road cuts through a heavy wooded section of Iron Mountain. There is a significant downhill section near the 2 mile marker which takes runners to the start of the dam. Skyline Dr runs along the top of the Lake DeGray Dam offering runners a spectacular view of the lake and countryside.
  
  After crossing the dam, the course hits a small uphill section before another huge downhill takes runners to the spillway area. At the bottom of this hill, the racers have to make a near 180 degree turn, after which the 3 mile marker is soon passed. The last tenth of a mile is flat as it curves around the spillway parking area to the finish line.
