• Description: Triathletes rejoice! The chance to compete in the cold is here as the Schaumburg Park District hosts the second annual Indoor Sprint Triathlon Nov. 21 at the Community Recreation Center. This fun-filled event consists of a 10-minute swim, 15-minute bike ride and 15-minute run.
  
  Space is limited, so only the first 48 applicants registered are eligible to participate. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $29 for residents and $39 for non-residents. Winners are determined by total distance covered and receive plaques honoring their achievement. Categories exist for males and females ages 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.
  
  Wave confirmations and additional information will be sent to participants by Nov. 14. Participants will be assigned a wave, determining their start time. The first wave begins at 7 a.m.
  
  The SPD Indoor Sprint Triathlon is part of the Midwest Indoor Sprint Triathlon Series with seven other park districts. Those entered in four or more Midwest Indoor Sprint Triathlon Series events qualify for a chance to win a grand prize donated by Direct Fitness Solutions. One grand prize will be given to the overall female and male winners of the entire series. Your top scores will determine your overall ranking. The awards will take place at the last Midwest Indoor Sprint Triathlon Series location.
