• Description: Don’t be fooled by this Midwestern locale. The beautiful hills of Dane County, Wisconsin pack a powerful punch. Both the 50-mile and 100-mile routes are peppered with a barrage of relentless rollers. Route profiles resemble a serrated knife blade, meaning riders will almost always being going up or down. The 100-mile course includes nearly 6,000 feet of climbing, most of it done in short, sharp bursts up steep, 10-percent grades. The crux is a pair of testing loops that pass the perimeter of Blue Mound State Park. Think of northern Europe’s crushing spring classics, and you understand the kind of rider it will take to succeed here.
