• Description: Summerfest is excited to present the inaugural Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Half Marathon and 10K Run presented by Associated Bank on July 10, 2011 at 8:00AM. The Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Half Marathon and 10K Run is comprised of a thrilling half marathon and a 10k run that starts and finishes at Summerfest, the World's Largest Music Festival. This event presents an incredible first time opportunity for athletes to run over a stretch of the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge. Runners will enjoy scenic views of Lake Michigan, downtown Milwaukee and the Summerfest grounds from the bridge and throughout the course. A total of $22,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top 20 male and female runners in each race, with the top men and women payouts starting at $2,500 and $1,250 respectively. Net proceeds from the Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Half Marathon and 10K Run will equally benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc. and Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.; both are 501(c)(3) organizations.
