• Description: Held in the heart of the Courthouse, the Goochland Triathlon is a great mid-season race in Central Virginia. Conveniently located 20 minutes west of Richmond and 40 minutes east of Charlottesville, this event features a 300 yard, outdoor pool swim followed by a fast 12.5 mile bike course circling the Courthouse district. The highlight of this two-loop course will be the 1.25 mile "drag strip" through the Courthouse. An equally scenic and **NEW**, two-loop 5K run will follow. This event is a great introduction to the sport of triathlon for our first-time triathletes and a true test of fitness for our seasoned competitors. A pancake breakfast will be provided for all competitors upon their completion of the event.
  
  The Goochland Triathlon is a great event for family participation. Children as young as 8 can race as individuals or as part of a relay team, and a secure "ChildWatch" area will be available for parents who want to race.
