• Description: Imagine you and your running friends or family taking on Highway 81 in the ultimate relay running event! Start in at Newman Outdoor Field (Home of the league champion FM RedHawks) in Fargo and work your way north 40.5 miles through 6 cities welcoming you and your team with open arms! The half-way point is HILLSBORO, North Dakota…..Then you turn around and hit it all again......from the other direction!
  
  Now….here’s the cool part….Get out the reflective gear!
  
  The 81 on 81 Relay Run starts on Friday, July 20th at 9:00PM…..and finishes around High Noon the next day!! It might sound a little crazy to run this race at night, but that’s why you are doing this, right?!?
  
  ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT!! Along the way expect COSTUMES, MUSIC, FOOD, and PURE FUN!
  
  You can run on a 6 Person or a 12 Person Team. If you’re on a 6 Person team, each runner will run 2 legs of the relay, with each leg being approximately 6 to 8 miles. If you’re on a 12 Person team, you get one leg of the 6 to 8 miles…. That means this relay is for runners of all levels!
  
  In between your two legs....plenty of time for resting up, cheering, eating, partying and getting a little crazy.
  
  While you run your leg along Highway 81, your teammates will drive ahead of you on the parallel Interstate 29, then wait for you at the next Exchange Point. Only ONE vehicle per 6-person team or TWO vehicles per 12-person team, and we require that it is decorated up...the crazier the better, and the better your chances of winning prize money!
  
  When your team finishes, it's time to regroup and enjoy the most memorable finish line festival you've ever seen…back at Newman Outdoor Field! Your FINISH LINE IS HOME PLATE….then the fun starts……Live Music, Great Food, Cold Drinks (yep...we might have a few beers out there), and a little time to relax with friends and family! That's it.....You'll never do 81 Miles like this again!
