- Description: Widely regarded as the world’s greatest $25 triathlon.
The start, finish, and transition areas will all take place at the Taylor Bank on 142nd street on Coastal Highway.
Swim: The swim will be a half-mile, ocean swim in the direction of the current that day. It will be a mass start. Wetsuits are allowed. There is an approximate¼ -mile run to transition area.
Bike: The bike will be a 15 mile out and back loop. The bike will start at 142nd street and head north on Coastal Highway, into Delaware with a turn around just north of Bethany. Due to heavy congestion in the summertime, the bike course will have the unique wrinkle that all competitors follow the rules of the road. That means bikers must stop at all traffic lights. The race is designed to be beginner friendly, to that end there is also a beach cruiser division for those who do not own road bikes. The cruiser division does the exact same swim and run course, but the bike is only 6 miles.
Run: The 5k run will head north from 142nd street into Fenwick Island Beach on Wright Street and Bunting Ave. The run is also an out and back. There is a water and Gatorade stop at the turnaround of the run.
