• Description: The new Chasing Caterpillars Triathlon is designed to give every participant and spectator the most enjoyable event possible. Beginning with a packet pickup and Expo that will give valuable information to competitors and will allow everyone to meet local contributors to the sport, the event is first class all the way. The swim is an individual start 250 meter pool swim in the Olympic 50 meter pool of Martin County's new Sailfish Splash Park. Visitors will be able to watch the event from the comfortable bleachers and see the triathletes exit through the transition area to the bike course on local closed roads. The two loop course gives spectators the chance to cheer on their favorites. Then through the transition area again onto the run, a 5 kilometer event with a finish through the arches of the Sailfish Splash Park. The Awards will recognize all for their efforts . For the more timid, the event has a "Chasing Caterpillars" category for those who may not like competition but want to feel the excitement of doing and finishing a triathlon! A great way to get started in the sport!
