- Description: The swim takes place right inside Valens Conservation Area in Valens Lake and follows a "box-like' pattern. Large, orange Swim buoys will clearly mark your path and turns. Once out of the water it is a short trek into the transition area over sand and grass. The bike is a box pattern as well, with the riders only making right hand turns (so bikes will only be on one side of the road). The course is relatively flat, with a few ups and downs but no substantial climbs to worry about. The run course features mostly trails. The first 2km are flat with a section of boardwalk to run over (please be careful, there are no railing on this short section). The next 3.5km are through the Hiking trails and are a bit more challenging, but nothing to fret over! The final 1km has you running over the fishing bridge in the middle of Valens Lake to a finish line that is parallel to the Lake.
