The swim start/finish is located adjacent to the transition area and consists of a one loop counter clockwise course. Spectators will be able to view the entire swim course from the elevated banks of the lake. The water temperature this time of the year is 74-78 degrees. Wetsuits will be determined prior to race day if possible with final determination likely being made the morning of the event.
The 16 mile bike portion is a point to point course leaving Van Pugh Park and traveling through parts of Hall and Gwinnett Counties. This course offers terrain of slight rolling hills and flat stretches. All turns will be clearly marked and manned for safety by police and volunteers. All roads are open to general traffic, please be aware of your surroundings and obey the officers and volunteers during the bike ride. Due to the shorter distance there will be no aid stations on the bike course.
The 4 mile run course will exit transition and run out the back gate of Chateau Elan onto Fleurie Drive. Athletes will run down Fleurie Drive which becomes Burgundy Drive then turning left on Golf Club Drive. Athletes will stay on Golf Club Drive running through the beautiful Chateau Elan neighborhoods passing by the golf course and running through a portion of the vineyards. Then turn left onto Tour de France drive to the finish line. There will be aid stations at every mile on the run course.
